What is Swedish Massage?
Swedish massage is designed to create a deeply calming and balancing effect on your well-being. It achieves this by focusing on the body's soft tissues and muscles using a combination of light and firm gliding strokes. It is primarily a gentler and more soothing technique, making it ideal if you are new to massage therapy or simply seeking pure relaxation.

Technique vs. Deep Tissue
While often confused with deep tissue massage, the two are distinct. Swedish massage focuses on the superficial skin surface and tissues, using lighter pressure. In contrast, deep tissue uses firmer pressure to target deep muscle layers and chronic tension, which may cause tenderness afterward.
Recommendation: If you've never had a professional massage before, we highly recommend starting with a Swedish massage for a gentle introduction to therapy.
Session Length & Coverage
A typical Swedish massage session is often scheduled for 75 to 90 minutes.
-
The focus is usually on common tension areas like the top of the back, neck, and shoulders.
-
A full-body Swedish massage will comprehensively include the entire back area, arms, and legs.
Post-Massage Wellness
Immediate Feeling
Most individuals feel profoundly relaxed and often a bit sleepy during the treatment. This sense of calm often continues for a period afterward, so be sure to allow yourself time to transition ("come back to earth") before resuming strenuous activities.
Hydration is Key
You may notice you feel thirsty or need to use the restroom more frequently due to the improvement in your body’s lymph circulation. It is strongly recommended that you drink plenty of water to help your body naturally flush out any toxins released during the massage.
